  52. FALLOUT-ALERT!!! RADIOACTIVE RAIN!!!

    Rond een uur of acht vanavond begon het te regenen met af en toe wat onweer hier in 010 zuid.
    Wat me opviel was dat de lucht (tijdens het onweer) helder oranje en paars kleurde.
    Rond 21:00 u heb ik m’n geigerteller in een dun plastic boterhammenzakje op m’n balkon gelegd in de regen om te meten met als resultaat:
    De regen gaf een constante waarde van 0.29 – 0.31 mcSv/uur aan!
    Dit is twee keer zoveel als de gemiddelde achtergrondstraling die ik al bijna vier jaar meet en waarbij de stralingswaarde van de regen nooit boven de achtergrondstraling uit kwam.

    Ook was er constant beta-straling wat bijna nooit voorkomt in deze contreien.
    Dit is belangrijk omdat beta-straling duidt op deeltjes de zgn “Hot Particles” die veel schadelijker zijn bij dezelfde waarden als de gebruikelijke gamma-straling.
    Dus 0.30 mcSv/uur beta-straling is gevaarlijker dan 0.30 mcSv/uur gamma-straling.

    Conclusie:

    Tussen 20:00 u en 21:50 regende en onweerde het hier in 010.

    De regen gaf een constante waarde van gemiddeld 0.30 mcSv/uur
    van zowel gamma als beta-straling.

    Dit is twee keer zo hoog als de gemiddelde achtergrondstraling hier in 010 en duidt dus op fallout!

    Nadat het weer droog werd daalden de waarden langzaam naar een “normale” achtergrondstraling tussen de 0.10 en 0.21 mcSv/uur (wat ook nog aan de hoge kant is).

    Aanbevelingen:

    Blijf uit de regen en sluit evt. ramen en deuren.

    Als je toch door de regen moest ga dan thuis gelijk douchen, trek schone kleren aan en was de kleren die je aanhad.

    Laat je schoenen buiten staan of spoel ze goed af.

    Hou je huisdieren binnen.

    • Update:

      Het is nu half drie s’nachts en het regent inmiddels weer een half uurtje in 010.
      De regen is nog steeds “hot”, gemiddeld 0.30 mcSv/uur met enkele pieken van 0.37 mcSv/uur.
      Binnen met m’n balkondeur dicht meet ik tussen de 0.12 en 0.25 mcSv/uur.
      Regen trekt nu een beetje weg dus met een beetje geluk daalt de straling straks weer naar redelijk “normale” achtergrondwaarden.

        Let op! De paarse en rose kleur van de lucht op sommige van de foto’s duidt op cesium 134 en 137.
        Een ander effect van cesium is een rose regenboog.
        De lucht was sterk elektrisch geladen door de aanwezigheid van radioactieve deeltjes,waardoor het onweer soms erg heftig was.
