*DHS Watchdog OKs ‘Suspicionless’ Seizure of Electronic Devices Along Border

(excerpt)

The Department of Homeland Security’s civil rights watchdog has concluded that travelers along the nation’s borders may have their electronics seized and the contents of those devices examined for any reason whatsoever — all in the name of national security.

The DHS, which secures the nation’s border, in 2009 announced that it would conduct a “Civil Liberties Impact Assessment” of its suspicionless search-and-seizure policy pertaining to electronic devices “within 120 days.” More than three years later, the DHS office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties published a two-page executive summary of its findings.

“We also conclude that imposing a requirement that officers have reasonable suspicion in order to conduct a border search of an electronic device would be operationally harmful without concomitant civil rights/civil liberties benefits,” the executive summary said.

*New Matt Damon Movie Reveals Mankind’s Transhumanist Destiny

(excerpts)

Elysium, a new movie starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster, depicts what many futurists have long predicted is mankind’s ultimate destiny – the division of the human race into two new class systems – a transhumanist elite that centralizes technological progress to achieve utopia, and a massive underclass left to rot on a dying planet ruled by robotic drones.

However, many of the themes of Elysium are clearly lifted from the work of futurists like Ray Kurzweil, who in his book The Age of Spiritual Machines predicted the body scanner depicted in the trailer which eliminates cancer cells.

Kurzweil’s 1999 book, which successfully foresaw the invention of the iPhone, the iPad, Google Glass, iTunes, You Tube and on demand services like Netflix as well as the Kindle, predicts that by 2029 the vast majority of humans will have augmented their bodies with cybernetic implants and those who refuse or are unable to do so will form a “human underclass” that is not productively engaged in the economy.

The wider trend of the elite seeing humans as completely expendable as their roles are taken up by machines unfolds after 2029 when, “There is almost no human employment in production, agriculture, and transportation,” writes Kurzweil.

By 2099, the entire planet is run by artificially intelligent computer systems which are smarter than the entire human race combined – similar to the Skynet system fictionalized in the Terminator franchise.

Humans who resist the pressure to alter their bodies by becoming part-cyborg will be ostracized from society.

*The Dark Side of Ray Kurzweil’s Transhumanist Utopia

Kurzweil, recently hired by Google, repeated his forecast at the Global Futures 2045 International Congress in New York this past weekend but newspaper reports concerning the issue were absent a key disclaimer which Kurzweil admits in his book – such technology will not be available to the general public and instead will be controlled by a technocratic elite who will attempt to become super beings by merging with machines.

“We’re going to become increasingly non-biological to the point where the non-biological part dominates and the biological part is not important any more,” said Kurzweil. “In fact the non-biological part – the machine part – will be so powerful it can completely model and understand the biological part. So even if that biological part went away it wouldn’t make any difference.”

“We’ll also have non-biological bodies – we can create bodies with nano technology, we can create virtual bodies and virtual reality in which the virtual reality will be as realistic as the actual reality. The virtual bodies will be as detailed and convincing as real bodies,” he added.

However, when Kurzweil says “we” he isn’t referring to you or I, he’s referring to the 1 per cent – the monied elite who will have privileged access to technology that will allow them to eliminate all forms of disease, dispense with the need for a human body and eventually achieve immortality by existing as a computer program on the world wide web.

The Crack of the “Copiale Cipher”

USC Scientist Cracks Mysterious “Copiale Cipher”

USC’s Professor Kevin Knight is part of an international team that finally cracked the “Copiale Cipher,” a strange, 105-page message handwritten in abstract symbols and Latin letters revealing the rituals and political leanings of a 18th-century secret society in Germany.

*They Cracked This 250 Year-Old Code, And Found a Secret Society Inside

“As a Mason you are not allowed to write down—let alone publish—your rituals,” Snoek said. So how do you spread your ideas? You publish esoteric rites as if they are exposures—public outings of Masonry. Except you publish in code, so only an elite cadre of fellow Masons can read the dangerous things you have to say. And when your mission is over, you stuff all the evidence into a box that doesn’t get opened for nearly 150 years. The Oculists guarded and transmitted the Masons’ deepest secrets, Snoek believes, using a mixture of ritual, misdirection, and cryptography.

*Want to speak Chinese without learning it? Here’s how

New “deep neural networks” technology out of Microsoft and the University of Toronto claims to not only translate your English into Mandarin but to speak it in your voice. Microsoft head researcher Richard Rashid demonstrated the technology in China recently.

Talk about your time savers. New research from Microsoft and the University of Toronto may make it possible for non-Chinese speakers to “speak” the language in their own voices without having to learn the language. Given the trade relationships between the US and China, this could be a really big deal if it works as advertised.

While great strides have been made in speech recognition over the past decades, the current systems still carry word error rates of 20 percent to 25 percent when handling “arbitrary speech,” Microsoft’s Richard Rashid wrote in a blog post. (Do you hear that Siri?)

But now, new technology called Deep Neural Networks, which mimics the way the human brain operates, enables much more discriminating speech recognition, according to Rashid, Microsoft’s chief research officer.

The Age of Surprise

October 1, 2012

The exponential advancement of technology has reached a critical point where not even governments can project the direction humanity is headed. Some researchers forecast an eventual singularity where the lines between humans and machines are blurred.

Discussions of warfighting domains in the past have included land, sea, air, and space. Recently cyber was added as a current domain of concern. But as cyber capabilities continue to evolve and combine with enablers of rapidly improving artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, and biotechnology, new threats may emerge. These threats may manifest at the state, non-state group, or even super-empowered individual levels in the Age of Surprise.

The Air Force Center for Strategy and Technology produced this video as part of an annual study it conducts about strategy and “airpower” in the future. The information is inspired by findings published by the Blue Horizons graduate student program at The Air University.

*Air Force Video Compares Facebook, iPhone to Atom Bombs

In an foreboding web video entitled “Welcome to 2035…the Age of Surprise,” produced by the U.S. Air Force’s Center for Strategy and Technology, the pace of human advancement races forward ever faster until the distinction between man and machine all but disappears and the dangers to those cyborgs are omnipresent. Social media, apparently, is a major step on the road to this dystopia.

The video is part of a USAF-led effort called “Blue Horizons,” which is tasked with producing a series of annual reports to attempt to predict the future’s technology. Blue Horizons tries to determine what air, space and cyberspace will look like in the next 20 years or so. It seeks to anticipate how the technology will change and who will have access to emerging technologies. But given their predictions, you’d be forgiven if you came away from the video with an impulsive need to burn your iPhone, deactivate your Facebook account and soberly promise never to go on YouTube again — wait, can I fit all that in a tweet?

The Microwave Genocide

August 17, 2012

Dr. Barrie Trower – 30 Minute Reality Update

ICAACT was given an exclusive interview with Dr. Barrie Trower, a true British gentlemen and hero, who has spent many years fighting for humanity.
After the meeting our respect and admiration for him rose to new heights.

During the two days of interview, we touched on many different topics, but the main theme was the abuse of microwaves as a secret and covert stealth weapon, that has been around for at least 50-60 years. This type of weapon has taken many different forms over the years and it is still used in many different types of targeting, even to the point of death around the world.

We started the Interview with basic knowledge about microwaves and how they influence the human body and mind. From there we went on to cover Dr. Barrie Trower’s long career, and finally we went into they abuse of microwave weapons and what can be done to protect against them.

The Interview was filmed on May the 1st and 2nd, 2012.

*EMF Killing Fields

“There are lots of ways that radiation injures brain cells but to prevent them from forming really takes the cake! Small wonder that cell phones come equipped with cameras, video, voice recognition, GPS locators, gigabyte storage, organization apps, clocks, docks, bells and strap-ons. These are functions of the temporal lobes. Adult users may have the luxury of renting spare lobes (paying their cellphone bills), just as Public Health officials have the luxury of characterizing them as addicts –“…preoccupation with a substance or behavior, followed by an increased tolerance… the “high” produced by those substances replaces the function of brain chemicals…” http://cellphoneaddiction.org/ –but new Generation Xers wont have that luxury. They’ll need implants. Conveniently, memory holes are becoming actual places. Forward-thinking entrepreneurs are probably already offering implant options in less centrally located areas (than your head). This is underway in the creation of SMART environments. Until now, I hadn’t quite gotten ahold of the tangible concept that coordinating SMART technologies are exteriorized brain implants. Besides carrying vital details about our life history, foreseeably near future phones could mediate all kinds of essential interactions like locking and unlocking doors, starting our cars, accessing bank accounts and broadcasting biometric data. Cell phones could become mandatory. Unsurprising, then, that nobody in policy-making suggests withdrawing phone technologies or allowing citizens to decide by democratic process whether antenna radiation is appropriate. It must be happening…

Buckminster Fuller

July 27, 2012

Richard Buckminster Fuller

“If somebody kept a very accurate record of a human being, going through the era from the Gay 90s, from a very different kind of world through the turn of the century—as far into the twentieth century as you might live. I decided to make myself a good case history of such a human being and it meant that I could not be judge of what was valid to put in or not. I must put everything in, so I started a very rigorous record.”

Buckminster Fuller – Everything I Know – session 01 (entire) – January 20, 1975

This is a recompiled and edited version of the Bucky videos on Google Video from the website:

https://conversationswithbucky.pbworks.com/w/page/16447435/FrontPage

The videos on that site being too disorganized and poorly edited for my liking. Here all of the blank screens at the end of each tape segment have been removed, and I’ve recompiled the tape segments back into their original order by session and date.
