Goat aurora over Greenland

Astronomy Picture of the Day

Sometimes it’s hard to believe what you see in the sky. During the Shelios Expedition to Greenland in late August, even veteran sky enthusiasts saw auroras so colorful, so fast changing, and so unusual in form that they could remember nothing like it. As the ever changing auroras evolved, huge shapes spread across the sky morphed from one familiar form into another, including what looked to be the head of a goat (shown above).

Jesse Ventura -The Water Conspiracy

September 20, 2012

Jesse Ventura ~ 2012 AMERICA’S SUPER DROUGHT (Drought or Water Theft!?)

About 2 years ago former Minnesota governor, Jesse Ventura, investigated reports of the theft of America’s “champaign water” including the Great Lakes. Today we are experiencing the aftermath of this ongoing Corporate water theft. Reports now indicate that there is NO water left for the Midwest farmers and, reports also indicate that the situation will require intervention of water reserves. We have not reached “peak water,” our water has been stolen from us.

*Mass slaughter of farm animals set to push food prices up 14%

The mass slaughter of millions of farm animals across the world is expected to push food prices to their highest ever levels.

As well as hitting consumers’ pockets, the predicted 14% jump in food prices will also dash the Bank of England’s hopes of pushing inflation down to 2% by next year.

Farmers across the world have begun a mass slaughter of their pig and cattle herds because they cannot afford the cost of feed, which has soared following the worst US drought in living memory, according to a report published on Wednesday.

Scotts Miracle-Gro busted

Scotts Miracle-Gro busted for illegally using pesticides on its bird seed, falsifying documents and killing wild birds

(NaturalNews) The Scotts Miracle-Gro company has been slapped with a $4 million criminal fine, the largest ever for this type of violation, after pleading guilty back in February to illegally adding unapproved insecticides to several of its bird food lines. Bizjournals and others report that Scotts is also being required to pay $500,000 for community service to satisfy a whopping 11 violations of federal pesticide law, $6 million in a civil agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and $2 million for various environmental restoration projects.

*Monsanto’s RoundUp and Scotts Using Miracle-Gro to Pay $12.5 Million for Improper Pesticide Use

Poisoning bird seed that you sell to bird lovers isn’t the brightest of ideas. Scott’s Miracle Gro, exclusive distributor of Monsanto’s RoundUp, is proposing donating $500,000 to support wildlife conservation and study in addition to paying a $4 million dollar fine for using unapproved insecticides in bird seed sold nationally for two years, the judge will be considering that in their guilty plea as he decides on the repercussions for their actions. The government alleges that beginning in 2005, Scotts produced a line of wild bird food products under names including “Morning Song” and “Country Pride” that contained insecticides.

Everything for a fast buck, right?!

Astrology Forecast for August

August 10, 2012

Tom Lescher from Glastonbury with an astrology forecast for August 2012

“In the deep dark passages of the night, I find my way into the light. For in those places my faults are revealed, and in finding their value I am truly healed.”

Indeed, this is a week where conflict can truly lead to resolution. One way or the other, it is decision time! No more putting off the “inevitable”.
Choose now or forever hold your peace (ooooooooo!)

The Trillion Dollar Plant

*Marijuana Prison Statistics

In 2007 the Department of Justice reported that there were 1,841,182 drug arrests in the United States; the report also stated that there were more drug abuse arrests than any other category of offenses. Marijuana arrests accounted for 47.4% of the drug abuse arrests. This allows us to estimate that about 872,720 persons were arrested for marijuana offenses. Eighty-nine percent of these arrests were for possession. The 2007 arrest data is even worse than 2006 when 829,627 people were arrested for marijuana (a Project Censored’s top 25 story in 2008). In 2005 there were 786,545 marijuana arrests, meaning that the number of arrests increased by 86K in just two years. Clearly, marijuana is an intense focus of police interest and activity; far more, apparently, than the less important crimes occurring at the same time on Wall Street.

Death of The Forests

March 17, 2012

“An extraordinary visual essay about deforestation in Indonesia as experienced through the eyes of a dying orangutan called Green, whose habitat has been totally destroyed. This story is told entirely without words.
NOTE: This film contains upsetting scenes including cruelty to animals.”

*Green: Death of the Forests

“Also while in Indonesia, I helped rescue a weak and dehydrated young female orangutan from an oil palm plantation who died in my arms on the way to the clinic. She stopped breathing when I was alone with her. The vet and the driver had gone for a quick dinner, but I stayed in the car holding her like a baby in my arms and whispering to her softly that she had to be strong, that everything was going to be fine, that no one would harm her anymore. Inside the car, all was quiet and peaceful. I could feel her breathing on my stomach. An angel passed and the breathing stopped. She was gone with one last soft heartbeat. I cried and felt so sorry for her. The poor little thing had probably seen her mother shot before her own eyes, had been locked up in a wooden box on the plantation where we found her, and had been left there alone, scared, cold, hungry and thirsty for days or weeks perhaps.”

Major X5.4 Solar Flare

March 7, 2012

Uploaded by SolarWatcher

*SpaceWeather.com

“A CME propelled toward Earth by this morning’s X5-class solar flare is expected to reach our planet on March 8th at 0625 UT (+/- 7 hr). Analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab, who prepared the CME’s forecast track, say the impact could spark a strong-to-severe geomagnetic storm. Sky watchers at all latitudes should be alert for auroras. Aurora alerts: text, phone.

A mild geomagnetic storm is already underway, following a lesser CME impact on March 7th around 0400 UT. Shortly after the cloud arrived, a burst of Northern Lights appeared over the US-Canadian border. Shawn Malone photographed the display from the shores of Lake Superior:”

*Strong solar storm heading for Earth

“Three-stage disturbance could last for days and affect power grids, air routes, satellites and GPS devices.”
