Merlin Miller in Iran

US Presidential Candidate: “Israel Did 911” Tells Ahmadinejad Zionists Control US Politics

The presidential race in the US is in high gear with both the Republicans and Democrats holding their high-profile national conventions in recent days.

Last week, it was Mitt Romney and his fellow Republicans in Tampa, Florida and this week, Democrats converged on Charlotte, North Carolina for their get together.

Press TV has conducted an interview with Merlin Miller, US presidential candidate for The American Third Position party, to further talk over the issue.

*“As The War Drums Beat”

I contemplate my recent trip to the Islamic Republic of Iran and ask myself who wants war between America and Iran. I quickly surmise that it is not the American people, nor the Iranian people, but globalists (international bankers and their multinational beneficiaries). They control Israel, the American media and most of our politicians…and by extension our foreign policy.

My journey to this exotic and little understood land began with an invitation to “New Horizon – The First International Independent Filmmakers Festival”. It was a conference and festival held in Tehran from September 2nd through September 7th. Filmmakers and intellectuals from around the world attended. It was one of the most stimulating experiences that I have ever had and an effective bridge between diverse cultures and perspectives – with the purpose of promoting truth, justice, liberty, and peace.

This initiative was undertaken, not by America or other world leaders, but by a country unfairly besieged with sanctions and threats of war. My observations were in stark contrast to the perceptions of most Americans. What I experienced was a devout country with a love of God, family, and nation – and an uncompromising respect for the noblest of human endeavors.

The anti-Soviet warrior

September 11, 2012

The original article from 1993 on line:

Anti-Soviet warrior puts his army on the road to peace: The Saudi businessman who recruited mujahedin now uses them for large-scale building projects in Sudan. Robert Fisk met him in Almatig

Outside Sudan, Mr Bin Laden is not regarded with quite such high esteem. The Egyptian press claims he brought hundreds of former Arab fighters back to Sudan from Afghanistan, while the Western embassy circuit in Khartoum has suggested that some of the ‘Afghans’ whom this Saudi entrepreneur flew to Sudan are now busy training for further jihad wars in Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt. Mr Bin Laden is well aware of this. ‘The rubbish of the media and the embassies,’ he calls it. ‘I am a construction engineer and an agriculturalist. If I had training camps here in Sudan, I couldn’t possibly do this job.’

And ‘this job’ is certainly an ambitious one: a brand-new highway stretching all the way from Khartoum to Port Sudan, a distance of 1,200km (745 miles) on the old road, now shortened to 800km by the new Bin Laden route that will turn the coastal run from the capital into a mere day’s journey. Into a country that is despised by Saudi Arabia for its support of Saddam Hussein in the Gulf war almost as much as it is condemned by the United States, Mr Bin Laden has brought the very construction equipment that he used only five years ago to build the guerrilla trails of Afghanistan.

Watching Syria, remembering Nicaragua

Watching Syria, remembering Nicaragua

U.S. leaders are 100 percent behind the armed FSA/SNC revolt in Syria for the same reason that they opposed the Sandinista revolution and supported the Contras in Nicaragua. They are confident that the victory of the Syrian opposition would be their victory as well, and another step toward full U.S. domination of the Middle East.

The CIA created, funded and armed a murderous counter-revolutionary paramilitary known as the Contras. More than 50,000 Nicaraguans died in the war that followed. The Contras’ tactics were murder, rape, torture and destruction. They killed doctors, nurses, teachers; burned health clinics, schools, co-operatives. Their thuggish leaders were wined and dined by Congresspersons and presidents.

Today, the CIA is coordinating the arming and many operations of the “Free Syrian Army, ” vetting which forces should receive weapons. (NY Times, June 21, 2012) U.S. intelligence agencies and their counterparts in the former colonizers of the Middle East, Britain and France, along with Israel’s, are undoubtedly doing much more.

*War Crime: Syria Terrorists Blow Up Hospital And Brag About It

The UK’s Telegraph has posted a video showing Saudi Arabia’s Salafit Terrorists blowing up a hospital in Syria.

Such attacks on hospitals, ambulances, doctors and first responders are all war crimes under international law as is the murder of the innocent civilians who were in the hospital at the time.

Ever wonder why these international war crimes laws are constantly violated by the US, its NATO allies and the proxy terrorists cells they run through Saudi Arabia?

They are only in place to put severely hinder the self-defense capabilities of the targets of their imperialistic agenda.

For example Syria terrorists are smuggling weapons and driving around under the cover of UK ambulances.

*Palestinians Criticize Democrats’ Jerusalem Stance

The Democrats on Wednesday restored language in the platform saying Jerusalem “is and will remain the capital of Israel.” A day earlier, the language had been removed from the platform, prompting Republicans to question President Barack Obama’s support for Israel.

The language is at odds with U.S. policy calling for the status of Jerusalem to be resolved through negotiations. Both Israel and the Palestinians claim east Jerusalem.

Nabil Abu Rdeneh, an aide to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said Thursday the Democrat’s decision might just be “election propoganda.” He said a failure to recognize the Palestinian claim to east Jerusalem will “destroy the peace process” and lead to “endless war.”

The Taliban in Pakistan

August 4, 2012

We went to Pakistan to invesitage why suicide bombings, IED use, and the Taliban are all growing at alarming rates.

In a recent trip to Pakistan to report on the recent spike in the region’s violence and bloodshed, Suroosh Alvi heard over and over the same sentiment from people on the ground: America’s war on terror is falling flat on its face. The military conflict in neighbouring Afghanistan, repeatedly cited by locals, sends a constant flood of guns, refugees, militants, and heroin flowing into Pakistan. Heroin is now actually cheaper than hashish in cities like Lahore, and the Kalashnikov culture, the foundation of which was laid 30 years ago when the CIA financed the mujahideen, is all-consuming. According to the Pakistanis he spoke to, it’s all taken a devastating toll on the country and is creating the next generation of militants.

*Afghanistan Drug production seriously threatens Pakistan

Islamabad—Despite the fact that Pakistan has become a poppy free country, the nation is facing risk of increased drug use due to heavy transit of drugs from neighbouring Afghanistan into Pakistan and abroad. This concern was raised by UN representative of and Pakistan Anti Narcotics officials at the launch of the 2012 World Drug Report United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) here in Islamabad.

According to the report the overall use of illicit drugs seems to have stabilized but was on the rise in several developing countries, especially those along trafficking routes. “Pakistan continues to be victim of drug use primarily due to trafficking from Afghanistan although the country does not produce any significant amount of drugs” informed Jeremy Douglas, UNODC representative while talking to Pakistan Observer. Border provinces and entry and exit points in Pakistan are most vulnerable, he added. According to the value of drugs which enters into Pakistan from Afghanistan is roughly estimated worth of between $ 27 to 30 billion annually.

The truth about Mitt Romney

August 2, 2012

US presidential candidate Mitt Romney has told an Israeli audience in Jerusalem that the United States has “a solemn duty and a moral imperative” to block Iran from achieving nuclear weapons capability.

*The truth about Mitt Romney

“If you could learn anything from the economic history of the world, it’s this: Culture makes all the difference,” Romney said. “And as I come here and I look out over this city and consider the accomplishments of the people of this nation, I recognise the power of at least culture and a few other things.”…

…But a problem arises when rich and powerful men like Romney, or a rich and powerful country like the United States, start to invent stories that rationalise their wealth and power so that wealth and power are no longer the result of decision made in the political arena but instead the spooky and invisible hand of God.

And once a man, or a country, has the right of divine fiat, then anyone who opposes him, or that country, would logically also oppose God, and naturally anyone who opposes God isn’t worth respecting. It isn’t far to go before it’s fine to dehumanise the other. The poor deserve their poverty, the sick their sickness, the weak their weakness. As one of Podhoretz’s commentators said of the Palestinians: “They are a filthy people and deserve what they get.”

A focus on culture is preferable to Romney for another reason: He is a member of the American elite, a group that benefits greatly from the upward distribution of wealth and power, a state of economic affairs that was not an accident or the result of exceptional culture. Instead, it was the result of concrete decisions made consciously and carefully by members of the American elite, people who – like Romney – would prefer that non-members did not focus on those decisions but instead on how the elite is deserving of its wealth and power.

Death terms in Iran bank scandal

July 30, 2012

The alleged mastermind of the scheme is said to have forged letters of credit from Iran’s Bank Saderat [Al Jazeera]

Death terms in Iran bank scandal

An Iranian court has sentenced four people to death for a billion-dollar bank fraud that tainted the government of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, state media has reported.

Iranians, hit by sanctions and soaring inflation, were shocked by the scale of the $2.6bn bank loan embezzlement that was exposed last year and by allegations it was carried out by people close to the political elite or with their assent.

Of the thirty-nine people tried for the fraud, the biggest in the country’s history, four were sentenced to hang, the IRNA state news agency reported on Monday.

“According to the sentence that was issued, four of the defendants in this case were sentenced to death,” prosecutor general Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei told IRNA.

Two people were sentenced to life and others received jail sentences of up to 25 years, Mohseni-Ejei said. In addition to jail time, some were sentenced to flogging, ordered to pay fines and banned from government jobs

Russian Ship to Return Syrian Helicopters Again

July 14, 2012

Russian Ship Tries Again to Return Syrian Helicopters

The Alaed had been a Curucao-flagged ship, and British officials made a big deal of having given serious consideration to launching a naval attack on the ship and capturing it to prevent the return of the helicopters. It was at this point the insurance was pulled and the ship slunk back to Murmansk.

This time, things are different. The ship has been reflagged as a Russian ship and while still traveling as a private vessel it is trailing not far behind a flotilla of Russian naval ships headed to the same area on a “training” operation.

Being a Russian-flagged ship removes the insurance obstacle, and the close proximity of the flotilla presumably will prevent Britain from giving serious consideration to attacking it when it gets close to British waters.

*Russian arms cargo vessel sails again

“Alaed” is Thursday sailing southbound along the coast of northern Norway after she left Murmansk on Tuesday. A flotilla of four Russian warships are sailing in the same direction some 50 nm north of “Alaed.” The vessel, carrying arms for Syria, is now on its way south after she had to return to Murmansk in late June to be refitted with Russian flag.

Who Killed Arafat?

July 5, 2012

A nine-month investigation by Al Jazeera discovered rare, radioactive polonium on the ex-Palestinian leader’s final belongings. The finding suggests that Arafat was poisoned with polonium, a rare, highly radioactive element. The polonium was found in blood, sweat, urine and saliva stains on his personal effects, and the levels recorded by forensic pathologists in Switzerland – who studied the items – do not occur naturally. Al Jazeera’s Clayton Swisher reports.

*What Killed Arafat?

The findings have led Suha Arafat, his widow, to ask the Palestinian Authority to exhume her late husband’s body from its grave in Ramallah.

But a conclusive finding that Arafat was poisoned with polonium would not explain who killed him. It is a difficult element to produce, though – it requires a nuclear reactor – and the signature of the polonium in Arafat’s bones could provide some insight about its origin.

Russian Troops Land In Syria – Russia To Protect Interests In Tartus

Now the Russian Black Sea fleet’s Iman tanker has arrived in the Syrian port of Tartus on the Mediterranean Sea with an anti-terror squad from the Russian Marines aboard according to the Interfax news agency. The Assad government has insisted it is fighting a terrorist insurgency. The Russian news reports did not elaborate on the Russian troops’ mission in Syria or if they are expected to leave the port.

The presence of Russian troops in Syria could be a “pretty obvious” show of support to the regime, according to Russian security expert Mark Galeotti.

“No one thinks of the Russians as anything but Assad’s last friends,” said Galeotti, professor of global affairs at New York University

The U.S. military has completed its own planning for how American troops would conduct a variety of operations against Syria, or to assist neighboring countries in the event action was ordered, officials tell CNN.

In recent weeks, the Pentagon has finalized its assessment of what types of units would be needed, how many troops, and even the cost of certain potential operations, officials tell CNN.

*Russia Sending Missile Systems to Shield Syria

MOSCOW — Russia’s chief arms exporter said Friday that his company was shipping advanced defensive missile systems to Syria that could be used to shoot down airplanes or sink ships if the United States or other nations try to intervene to halt the country’s spiral of violence.

“I would like to say these mechanisms are really a good means of defense, a reliable defense against attacks from the air or sea,” Anatoly P. Isaykin, the general director of the company, Rosoboronexport, said Friday in an interview. “This is not a threat, but whoever is planning an attack should think about this.”
