How Goldman gambled on starvation

“So it has come to this. The world’s wealthiest speculators set up a casino where the chips were the stomachs of hundreds of millions of innocent people. They gambled on increasing starvation, and won. Their Wasteland moment created a real wasteland. What does it say about our political and economic system that we can so casually inflict so much pain?

If we don’t re-regulate, it is only a matter of time before this all happens again. How many people would it kill next time?

Someone commented on this article:

“If blame is to be apportioned for fact that so many people could no longer afford to feed their families during this period it must fall on the shoulders of those who saw biofuels as a viable long term alternative to fossil fuels.”

  1. The context of this post is that the murder has subsided, but it’ll come round again. The killing is an ongoing process, but they’re never happy with the numbers, more death, more plague, more starvation, more control.
